Attach files to an email

Both composers — reply and New email — have a paperclip. It works for Gmail and Microsoft 365 mailboxes alike.

  1. Click the paperclip and pick a file. It uploads immediately; an upload in progress blocks Send until it finishes.
  2. The composer states the effective limits — how many files and how large each may be. They are set by the platform operator.
  3. Send.

A refused file — too large, too many, or a blocked type (executables, archives, video) — shows the server’s reason, and nothing is uploaded. An attachment is never silently dropped: if a file cannot go, the send tells you rather than sending without it.

Send later and attachments are mutually exclusive for now: attaching a file disables Send later, and scheduling disables the paperclip.

Attachments render as download chips on the thread (Conversations and Inbox), on Sent, and as a 📎 count in the record’s History table. Clicking a chip downloads the file.

An email template can carry attachments; inserting it adds them to your draft as ordinary attachments.
