Event types and video calls

An event type is one thing a guest can book. Create them on Settings → Scheduling.

  • Length of the meeting.
  • Where it happens — see the video options below.
  • Buffers before and after.
  • Notice — how soon a guest may book.
  • How far ahead people may book.
  • An optional daily cap.
  • Show on my booking page — untick for a link that works but is not listed.

Every one of these is per event type, not a global setting. An event type that has bookings cannot be deleted, and its length cannot be changed while it is booked.

  1. Meet or Teams — your calendar provider makes the link. Needs a two-way calendar that can create one; a personal Outlook.com account cannot, and the readiness banner says so. See Two-way calendar sync.
  2. Video call (my meeting link) — your personal room from the Your video meeting link field on the Scheduling page. Paste your Zoom Personal Meeting ID link, a Jitsi room, a Whereby room — any https link. If the field is empty, directions appear under it, with a Use a Jitsi room button that fills in a personal room named after you. You cannot clear the link while an event type still uses it — change the event type first.
  3. Jitsi room, generated per booking — a new private room for every booking, under the deployment’s Jitsi instance. Open it a minute early to start the call as the moderator; the public Jitsi asks the first person in to sign in.

Whichever kind, the guest gets the link in their confirmation email (a Join the video call block with how-to-join tips) and in the calendar invitation.
