Install the LinkedIn extension

The extension is what connects your LinkedIn browsing to the CRM. While it is installed and set up, the profiles you view, the messages you send and receive, your new connections, and the posts you scroll past are recorded on the right contacts — without you typing anything. It only observes: it never sends messages, connection requests, or anything else on your behalf.

  • Use Google Chrome (or another Chromium-based browser that installs from the Chrome Web Store).
  • Ask your Admin to confirm that Capture is switched on for the workspace under Settings → LinkedIn. Until it is, you can install the extension but cannot generate the token it needs — see Capture is switched off.
  1. In the CRM, open Settings → LinkedIn. The Your extension section has a link to the extension’s Chrome Web Store page.
  2. On the store page, click Add to Chrome and confirm.
  3. Pin the extension (puzzle-piece icon in the Chrome toolbar → pin) so it stays visible.

The extension is built for this deployment specifically — it already knows the CRM’s address. If you have used another deployment’s build before, remove it, or keep only this one enabled: two builds installed with the wrong one active shows as Extension mismatch in the CRM.

The extension appears in the Chrome toolbar and in chrome://extensions as enabled. Nothing is captured yet — the next step is to enter your capture token.

A warning pill next to LinkedIn in the sidebar means the CRM cannot hear the extension. A disabled extension counts as not installed. See Extension not installed.
