Signals — who engaged with you

Signals is an inbox of inbound LinkedIn engagement: who commented on or reacted to your posts, reshared or mentioned you, viewed your profile, accepted your invitation, or followed you. It fills up when you open your LinkedIn notifications page with the extension running — the CRM never polls LinkedIn on its own.

It appears in the sidebar only when an Admin has switched Signals on under LinkedIn settings.

A signal belongs to the LinkedIn account that received it, not to whoever happened to be signed into the CRM. So before anything is captured, you tell the extension which LinkedIn account is yours: open your own profile page on LinkedIn and use the extension’s This is Me claim. Until an account is claimed, nothing is captured for it — the Signals page says so with its “link your LinkedIn account first” state.

Signals are per person: your inbox shows only your signals, even if a teammate shares your CRM seat.

  1. Click Check LinkedIn notifications at the top of Signals (or just open linkedin.com/notifications/).
  2. Scroll through your notifications as you normally would.
  3. Back in the CRM, the header freshness updates and new rows appear, grouped by day. Reactions on the same post collapse into one expandable row.

The header reports when capture last looked, not when it last found something — a quiet week reads as “checked today, nothing new,” not as a stale feed.

The filter chips: Needs Review (the default — the goal is to empty it) · Not in CRM · In CRM · Warm · Comments · All. Needs Review already spans matched and unmatched people, so All is everything you have not dismissed, including what you have handled.

For each row:

  • Dismiss — the verdict you reach for most, so it is a button right on the row. Dismissed rows leave the queue but stay under All.
  • Add to CRM — for someone who is not a contact yet: pick a temperature (Warm / Neutral / Cold, with the cadence labels) and the contact is created with a follow-up task scheduled. If the name looks like an existing contact, the row first offers Link to existing / Add as new so nothing is duplicated silently.
  • Follow up — for someone who is already a contact: opens the Schedule dialog.

Vet a stranger before adding them: the actor’s name links to their LinkedIn profile, on every row. On a matched row the contact link goes to the CRM record instead.

Photos come from the contact’s stored CRM photo where there is one; otherwise the row shows initials rather than a broken image.

Signals is careful never to show “no data” as a zero:

  • Link your LinkedIn account first — you have not claimed an identity yet.
  • Nothing captured yet — claimed, but capture has not run. See No captures yet.
  • You’re caught up — capture ran and there is nothing to review.

The Signals badge in the sidebar dims when capture has not run for more than a day.
