Write a new email
The New email composer sends a fresh email (not a reply) from your connected mailbox and records it on every matching contact’s timeline. It needs a send-capable mailbox; with none connected, the dialog shows a “No send-enabled mailbox” panel linking to Settings → Email.
Open the composer
Section titled “Open the composer”- The top bar’s New menu → New email, or the
eshortcut. - New email on a contact’s Conversations tab.
- The Email action on a contact row, a contact page, a Newsfeed row, a Tasks row, or a Sent row — pre-addressed to that contact.
- Clicking a contact’s email address on the list or the contact page.
Fields
Section titled “Fields”- From — your send-capable mailboxes.
- To / Cc / Bcc — type a name to search your contacts and pick, or type an address. Each becomes a chip; invalid addresses show red. Cc and Bcc sit behind a toggle.
- Subject and a rich-text body with a Templates picker — see Message templates.
- The paperclip attaches files — see Attachments.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”After Send, the email appears on the Conversations tab and History of every To and Cc recipient whose contact email matches exactly (Bcc recipients are never matched), and on Sent. A message to someone who is not a contact shows on Sent as Not linked to a contact, with a one-click Add as contact.
