Add a contact from a LinkedIn profile

On any LinkedIn profile (linkedin.com/in/…) or Sales Navigator lead page, the extension shows an Add to CRM pill at the bottom-left of the page. If the person is already in the CRM it reads ✓ In CRM and opens their record instead.

  1. Open the person’s profile or lead page.
  2. Click Add to CRM. A two-row picker opens:
    • Top row: a Source select (your workspace’s Source options, LinkedIn preselected) and a Stage select (your funnel’s stages in order, preselecting the pipeline’s landing stage — retired stages are never offered).
    • Bottom row: color-coded temperature chips — Warm / Neutral / Cold, labeled with the follow-up cadence your Admin configured.
  3. Click a temperature. That is the commit: the contact is created with the source, stage, and temperature you chose, and a follow-up task is scheduled automatically per the workspace’s follow-up rule. There is no Skip — if your workspace has no cadences configured, a plain Add chip appears instead.

A stale pick — a stage retired between opening the picker and clicking — falls back to the landing stage; the add never errors.

  • From a profile: name, the profile URL, and the person’s stable LinkedIn ID (the key the CRM uses to match future captures). The job title on regular profiles is often unreadable and is left blank; About and company are filled in on later views.
  • From a Sales Navigator lead page: name and headline (as job title), email and phone where the lead exposes them, the Sales Navigator ID, and — after a brief flash of the ”···” menu, which is expected — the regular linkedin.com/in/ URL, so the record unifies with captures from regular LinkedIn.

Messages you exchanged with the person before adding them attach to the new contact automatically.

The pill checks for likely matches first. When one exists it offers 🔗 Link to existing or ➕ Add as new — it never merges on its own. Someone added from both regular LinkedIn and Sales Navigator can be linked onto one contact; the record then shows both the LinkedIn and Sales Nav action buttons.

The pill changes to ✓ In CRM, the CRM overlay panel appears on the profile, and the contact is on your Contacts list in the stage you chose. The follow-up task appears on Tasks.
