Sales Navigator
The extension works on Sales Navigator as well as regular LinkedIn. There is nothing to switch on: while Capture is enabled for the workspace and you have a token, Sales Navigator is covered.
What is captured
Section titled “What is captured”- Inbox threads — the visible messages in a conversation, with direction and original timestamps. They appear on the contact’s Conversations tab under a Sales Navigator region, and in the global Inbox with a Sales Nav badge.
- Lead pages — a visit records the lead’s Sales Navigator ID on the matching contact and fills in blank fields (headline as job title, email and phone where exposed). For a contact who already exists, this is how the CRM learns to recognize their Sales Navigator messages.
- A lead’s recent activity — posts flow into the Newsfeed with a Sales Nav channel pill (when Engagement is on).
The rule that keeps messages linked
Section titled “The rule that keeps messages linked”Sales Navigator’s inbox identifies people only by their lead ID — it exposes neither the regular profile URL nor the member ID. So an inbox message can only be linked to a contact whose record already holds that lead ID.
If a Sales Navigator conversation is missing from a contact’s Conversations, open that person’s lead page once. The visit stamps the lead ID onto the contact, and the messages that were captured but not linked attach on their own.
The badge on the inbox page tells you which case you are in: ✓ synced N Sales Navigator message(s) once the CRM has linked them, or an amber N captured · not linked to a CRM contact — open their lead page, or Add to CRM. The word “synced” is only ever shown for messages that reached a contact.
Adding a contact from a lead page
Section titled “Adding a contact from a lead page”Works exactly like adding from a profile, with more filled in: the pill reads the name and headline, picks up email and phone when the lead exposes them, sets the Sales Navigator ID, and briefly opens the ”···” menu to grab the regular linkedin.com/in/ URL so the contact unifies with regular-LinkedIn captures. The quick menu flash is expected.
Things to know
Section titled “Things to know”- Sales Navigator does not expose a post’s permalink, so a post seen only there cannot link to the post itself; the Newsfeed row links to the author’s activity or lead page instead.
- Company is not captured from lead pages.
- Replying from the CRM into a Sales Navigator thread is covered in Reply on LinkedIn from the CRM.
