Create a contact, company, or deal

Any of these opens the Quick Create dialog:

  • The New menu in the top bar.
  • The command palette (Cmd/Ctrl+K) → Create group.
  • A shortcut key with nothing focused: 1 contact, 2 company, 3 deal.
  • + New on the Contacts, Companies, or Deals list.

The form shows the entity’s fields and validates them with the same rules the server uses, so what saves here is what the CRM accepts.

  • Entering a LinkedIn URL runs a duplicate check and lists existing matches before you save, so you can open the existing record instead.
  • The LinkedIn identity fields the extension manages (member ID, Sales Navigator ID) are not on the form — the extension fills them in.
  • There is no Stage field. A new contact lands in your funnel’s landing stage (the one your Admin marked “new records land here,” or the first visible stage), so it appears on the board straight away. Move it with the pipeline rail on the contact page, the board, or the click-to-edit Stage cell on the list.
  • A contact with nothing but a name is fine — fill the rest in as you learn it.

Deals can only be created while the Deals switch is on (an Admin setting under Vertical pack). When it is off, the Deals entries disappear from the New menu, the palette, and the shortcuts.

The new record opens in the list (newest first) or on its detail page, and a contact appears in the landing-stage column of the Contact Funnel board.

Adding people from LinkedIn is usually faster than typing — see Add a contact from a LinkedIn profile.
